Use the zoo’s published timetable
The zoo’s visitor page currently lists 9:30 am to 5:30 pm and Tuesday as its weekly holiday. It lists domestic adult admission at ₹40 and child admission at ₹20, with foreign adult and child categories of ₹100 and ₹50. The page does not define the child age band; ask the counter which category applies.
Recheck the visitor page before departure and confirm any changes at the gate. These are zoo details, not a timetable or fee schedule for the adjoining Shiva shrine or wider Jogimatti forest.
Choose a manageable route
Start with the areas your group most wants to see rather than trying to cover every enclosure. Read the current signs, supervise children and never feed or provoke animals. An older photograph is not a current inventory of animals on display.
The visitor page lists wheelchairs, toilets, a canteen, garden and play facilities. Ask about wheelchair availability and the complete usable route. A wheelchair listed as an amenity does not establish that every shrine threshold, slope or toilet is step-free.
Plan the road and the return
Use Chitradurga as the transport and meal base. Agree a waiting vehicle or a definite pickup before starting the forest-side approach. Do not assume a return app taxi will be available simply because the town has mobile coverage.

Leave with time in hand
Allow a quiet pause for water and a toilet stop before returning to the vehicle. Keep food away from enclosures and carry waste to the designated disposal point.
