From Koppal to Itagi, Kanakagiri and Anegundi

The district has too much for one loop. Choose Chalukya temples or the Tungabhadra landscape, then give that route a day.

Do not combine every famous Koppal-district name into one day. Itagi and Kukanoor form the natural western temple circuit. Kanakagiri, Anegundi and Anjanadri pull east toward Gangavathi and the Tungabhadra. Each route deserves daylight and a retained car.

Choose the architecture day

Go to Itagi for the Mahadeva temple, praised in its own inscription as Devalaya Chakravarti, and pair it with the Navalinga group at Kukanoor. Morning light and time to walk the compounds matter more than adding another pin.

Choose the river-and-boulder day

Head toward Gangavathi for Kanakagiri or continue to Anegundi, Pampa Sarovar and Anjanadri. This is a separate landscape and travel day. Confirm the return with your driver and do not assume a river crossing or local connection will run on demand.
