Koppal works as a one-day town because its four core places lie on the same rocky western and southern edge. Begin at the fort before the granite heats up, continue to the Gavimath edict, pause in the living matha precinct and finish at Palkigundu when the light softens.
Arriving and moving around
Koppal station and the bus stand are both in town. Autos are the practical link between the four stops; agree a return pickup before climbing. The district administration gives Hosapete as 30.7 km, Gangavathi as 45.8 km and Hubballi as 120 km by road.
What to carry
Water, a hat and shoes with grip are essential. The hills have little shade, informal paths and unguarded edges. No current official timetable or fee schedule is published for the outdoor heritage sites, so visit in daylight and do not plan around an internet claim.
