Karnataka Tourism specifically names Hattihole Bridge as a close companion to Kote Betta and Mallalli Falls as another place in the wider region. “Nearby” does not mean all three fit automatically after a late trek start.
What the record supports
The ridge walk has variable duration, while Mallalli adds a separate northern road and a stepped waterfall visit. Madikeri remains the practical base for an early start, meals and a retained vehicle.
Make the visit work
Give Kotebetta the clear first half of the day. Stop at Hattihole only where the public approach is safe. Add Mallalli only when weather, daylight and the driver’s return plan still work; otherwise leave it for a Somwarpet day.
Keep Kotebetta, Hattihole and Mallalli without rushing distinct from nearby attractions. Their photographs, opening hours, permissions and facilities cannot be transferred to this site.
