Ghulam Yazdani’s 1939 exterior is the clearest verified visual record of Langar Ki Masjid available on Wikimedia Commons. Its value lies as much in its date as in its subject.
The photograph fixes an earlier condition of arches, roofline and corner forms. It cannot certify what is standing, stable or accessible now.
Read the arcade
The repeated arches organise the façade into a measured rhythm. Their breadth makes the building appear low and horizontal even where corner elements rise above it.
Compare the bays before counting decorative features. Structure carries the visual argument.
A former mosque
Current monument records describe an inactive mosque in partial ruins. Advice about prayer times or an operating prayer hall therefore misstates the site.
Respect remains essential because this is Islamic heritage in a living neighbourhood, but etiquette should fit the actual status of the monument.
A photograph with limits
Public-domain status permits reuse of the image; it does not turn the photographed interior into a current public route. Confirm access in daylight and stay off damaged fabric.
Caption the year every time. Without it, a visitor may mistake an archival record for a current-condition photograph.
