Military Mahadev is a modern Shiva shrine associated with the Maratha Light Infantry. Its identity is inseparable from Belagavi’s living cantonment, which means normal temple courtesy is only one part of responsible behaviour.

Read the gate on the day

Public access can change with security requirements. Follow current signs and personnel instructions; do not argue from an old blog, map listing or photograph if a gate is restricted.

Keep cameras restrained

Ask before photographing inside the shrine and never point a camera at military personnel, gates, vehicles or installations. A deliberate no-photo page hero is more honest than borrowing an image of another temple.

Treat it as a short stop

The shrine does not need inflated visit times. Pair it with clearly public city sites such as Belagavi Fort, but keep the cantonment leg flexible enough to skip if access is limited.
