Highlights
- Tarakeshwara Temple, Hangal — The marquee monument of Haveri — a large Kadamba-origin Shiva temple at Hangal elaborated by the Kalyani Chalukyas in the 11th–12th centuries, famed for the deeply carved bhuvaneshwari (domed) ceiling of its sabhamandapa; an ASI-listed temple in the old Kadamba capital of Panungal.
- Hangal Fort — The fort of the Hangal Kadambas, capital of their branch between 1068 and 1203 CE — surviving walls enclose a decorated Jain basadi and a Veerabhadra temple, the remnants of the old citadel of Panungal.
