Lighthouse: the landmark and resort centre
Lighthouse Beach is named for the striped Vizhinjam tower on the southern headland. Kerala Tourism describes beachside dining and activities around this cove. It is a logical first stop if you want the landmark, a busy shoreline and a choice of businesses close together. Confirm an individual restaurant or activity before travelling for it; the mix can change.
Hawa or Eve’s: the middle cove
Hawa Beach lies between the other two in the official three-beach description. Kerala Tourism uses both Hawa and Eve’s; its older 2005 notice also used Eve’s Beach. That is helpful when checking a map or giving a pickup point. The sources do not establish a permanent lifeguard schedule or a fixed fishing performance here.
Samudra or Grove’s: a separate northern visit
Samudra Beach is the northern cove, called Grove’s in some Kerala Tourism material. Its official destination page describes a quieter setting and local fishing boats. It also describes rocky separation from the other coves. If your room is here, check the road approach. If you start at Lighthouse, do not count on an uninterrupted walk over the shore rocks; ask locally about the current public path or use the road.
Sea safety is a day-of decision
No cove has a year-round guarantee of safe swimming. Weather, surf, tide and local restrictions change. Follow the signs and lifeguard instructions actually posted on the beach. If a supervised swimming area is operating, stay within it; if you cannot identify a safe entry or exit, keep the visit on shore.
