Snehatheeram — the “Love Shore” at Thalikulam — is one of the easiest beach days you can plan in Thrissur district. It pairs a long Arabian Sea strand with a maintained beach park, so there is shade, seating and something for children before you even reach the water. The beach park and facilities

The heart of the visit is the landscaped park behind the sand, run by the state tourism department. Expect a tiled walkway, a well-kept garden, plenty of benches and food stalls selling snacks and local bites. A small marine aquarium displays aquatic species and is a reliable hit with younger visitors. For a proper meal, the on-site restaurant, Naalukettu, serves coastal seafood and Kerala fare a short walk from the shore.

The children’s park is the reason many families choose Snehatheeram over a plain beach. There is a play area with a handful of games and swings, shaded spots to sit, and the aquarium close by. The beach itself is generally free to enter; the small charge is for the park facilities and for parking your vehicle. Snehatheeram faces west into the Arabian Sea, so the sunset is the headline event — the sky reddening over the water as the day’s crowd gathers along the shore. The most comfortable stretch of the year is October to March, when the weather is cooler and drier; the monsoon months bring rough seas and heavy rain.

How to reach Snehatheeram

The beach sits at Thalikulam, roughly 25–30 kilometres from Thrissur city. From Thrissur, drive out towards the coast via the Thrissur–Kanjani–Thalikulam route; the nearest bus stop is at Thalikulam, about 3 kilometres from the shore, with local buses, autos and taxis covering the last leg. From Guruvayur and Chavakkad to the north, the coast is an easy drive via NH-66 and the Chavakkad–Kanjani road, making Snehatheeram a natural add-on to a Guruvayur temple trip.
