About

Nedumkayam is a Kerala Forest Department eco-tourism destination in the rainforest about 15 km from Nilambur, part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve in Malappuram district. The forest department conducts guided trekking programmes through dense teak and evergreen jungle to the historic elephant kraal, the colonial Dawson girder bridge, the Dawson graveyard and the Karimpuzha river, and a longer three-hour trek reaches the Mundakadav waterfalls, making it one of the best organised forest treks in the Nilambur teak country.
