Sulur Lake
The Sulur Big Tank, about 20 km east of Coimbatore, is a centuries-old irrigation reservoir that now doubles as a rich wetland for birdlife. It draws waders such as sandpipers and redshanks along with grey herons and black-headed ibises, particularly in the winter migration months. It is a quieter alternative to the city lakes for birdwatchers.
