Highlights
- Vellimalai Sivan Temple, Sirumalai — A hilltop Shiva temple in the Sirumalai range, traditionally believed to have been worshipped by the sage Agasthiyar. Reaching the shrine involves a short trek of about an hour up the hill. It combines pilgrimage interest with scenic forest and valley views.
- Anjaneyar Temple, Anaipatti — A Hanuman temple at Anaipatti in Nilakottai taluk, reputed to be around 300 years old. It is traditionally said to have been established by Rani Mangammal, the Nayak queen of Madurai. Set beside a river, it is one of the older village shrines of the area.
