The story
Agaya Gangai is a seasonal Kolli Hills cascade reached by a long, steep staircase near the Arapaleeswarar area. The descent commits you to a strenuous climb back. Confirm that the stairway and base are open before starting, especially after heavy rain.

The waterfall drops into a forested gorge, but flow and visibility vary with rainfall. No visitor should be promised a full cascade.
The route is commonly described as roughly a thousand steps. Fitness, heat and wet stone matter more than the downhill time.
Carry water, wear gripping footwear and obey barriers at the pool and rock face. Bathing permission must be checked on the day.
For the visit itself, allow two to three hours for the return climb. The best time is cool daylight after safe rainfall, subject to local access. Use the staffed, signed stairway only when its entrance is open. Turn back if weather or fitness makes the return unsafe. Wet steps and rocks are slippery; the route is not step-free.
