Kandhamalai Murugan Temple, Mohanur

A historic fort at Paramathi built by Allala Ilayan of the Vettuva Gounder community, notable as a rare Tamil fort constructed without stone. Inside stands a shrine to the fort's guardian deity, Kotaiyanna Swamy.

A roughly 1,000-year-old Shiva temple built in the Pandya period, one of five temples linked to the Pandava Bhima, who is said to have installed its lingam. It stands on the banks of the Thirumanimutharu, which joins the Cauvery near Velur, and is a rare site where temple, river and cremation ground occur together as at Kasi.

An ancient hill shrine to Ettukai Amman, the eight-armed guardian goddess of the Kolli Hills, locally known as Kollipavai. The deity and the hills are referenced in Sangam-era Tamil literature. Pilgrims gather in large numbers on Amavasai (new moon) days.
