History & overview
The Global Peace Palace in Thumpoly, Alappuzha is a 21st-century monument built as a replica of the Taj Mahal. It was created by Akb Kumar, a retired Indian Navy officer, who reportedly spent his life savings to erect it as a memorial to war heroes and victims of terror attacks. The structure covers about 7,000 sq ft, stands roughly 42 ft high, and has four minarets representing the Army, Navy, Air Force and Paramilitary Forces.
