Chengannur (station code CNGR) is a Southern Railway station in the Thiruvananthapuram division that Indian Railways formally declared the 'Gateway of Sabarimala' in 2009, and it is the nearest railhead for pilgrims heading to Sabarimala and Pandalam. Its three platforms carry a computerised reservation counter, cloak room, paid AC waiting rooms, lifts and escalators, and dedicated shelters for Sabarimala pilgrims.
