Overview
The Pazhaya Suriyani Palli at Chengannur is one of the oldest surviving church buildings in Kerala, predating European Christianity in India by centuries, and its architecture blends eighteenth-century Christian forms with Kerala temple building. Since an 1878 trust it has been co-owned by the local Malankara Orthodox and Mar Thoma parishes, which worship in it on alternate Sundays.
