Timber Nook: plan for the journey to collect meals
Timber Nook’s official page describes a wooden treetop room with a bathroom near Thunacadavu Reservoir. Its elevated setting brings an access question: ask about the stairs, luggage and the programme’s walking requirements for each traveller in your party. A treetop photograph cannot establish that the approach suits a child or a person who has difficulty walking.
The package lists meals, rafting and a trekking or birdwatching session. Meals nevertheless need collection from Anappady Bojanasala in the guest’s own vehicle. Confirm where to report, when food is collected and how that fits around activities. Peruvari Island Nest: organise provisions before the crossing
Peruvari Island Nest is the island choice, reached by bamboo raft. Its food arrangement differs from Timber Nook: guests must purchase provisions before Sethumadai, and the accompanying staff prepare the food brought by the group. Cooking help does not mean the package includes the ingredients. Discuss quantities, dietary needs and water arrangements before travelling.
The published group limit is five, and the group charge is not reduced when fewer people travel. The programme also uses the guest’s own vehicle for safari, with a guide accommodated in it. Reporting times and split-group bookings need care
Timber Nook publishes noon check-in and next-day 10:30 checkout, with early or late changes subject to availability and charges. Peruvari asks visitors to report at the Anappady Information Centre at noon and check out there by 11 the next day, without an early or late arrangement. Confirm the current reporting instructions when requesting dates. Check-post entry is charged separately.
A party divided between reserve accommodation programmes may be staying in different locations. Night movement restrictions can affect plans to meet for meals or travel between them. Tell the tourism desk about the whole group before making separate reservations, and ask whether the intended arrangements are possible.
