Vaideki Falls

Sengupathi Falls is a seasonal waterfall in the Western Ghats foothills roughly 35 km from Coimbatore, often visited in combination with the nearby Vaideki Falls. It flows strongly during and after the monsoon and is a quiet nature and picnic spot. Its forested setting keeps it a lesser-crowded alternative among the district's cascades.

Kovai Kondattam is an amusement-cum-water theme park on the Siruvani Main Road at Kalampalayam, on the western edge of Coimbatore. It offers water rides, wave pools and dry amusement attractions and is a popular family and group outing. It is one of the main recreational parks within easy reach of the city.

An ancient Shiva temple on the banks of the Noyyal river, known for its intricate Dravidian architecture and the Kanaka Sabha hall with its gold-plated roof.

The botanical garden on the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University campus dates back to the 1920s and spreads across roughly 300 acres of rare trees, shrubs and flowering plants. It functions both as a research collection and a green public space, and the campus also hosts a noted Insect Museum. It is one of the largest and oldest institutional gardens in the region.

A hilltop Murugan temple on the western edge of Coimbatore city, reached by road or a flight of steps, popular for its panoramic views and daily abhishekam rituals.

Established in 1902 by Horace Archibald Gass, then Conservator of Forests, this is one of India's oldest forestry and natural-history museums, set within the Tamil Nadu Forest Academy campus. Its galleries display taxidermied mammals and birds, preserved butterflies and reptiles, and timber and wood samples. It is a valued educational and heritage institution in the city.

Anaikatti lies in the Nilgiri foothills on the Coimbatore–Anaikatti road near the Tamil Nadu–Kerala border, surrounded by tribal hamlets, streams and reserve forest. The cool, green hill country is a popular short getaway from Coimbatore and hosts research institutions such as SACON. Its scenery and proximity to the Nilgiri Biosphere make it a favourite drive and picnic destination.

Ukkadam Periyakulam is a Noyyal-linked urban lake with a public promenade for walks, birdwatching and views across the water. A relaxed lakeside outing offers an outdoor break in Coimbatore; boating depends on the day’s operating arrangements.

The mosque at Kottaimedu is a historic place of worship dating to 1776, in an area that was once the site of a Vijayanagara-era fort (kottai). It is one of the older mosques in the city and an important centre for Coimbatore's Muslim community. Its long history makes it a heritage landmark of the old town quarter.

The Government Museum in Coimbatore is the district's state-run museum with sections on archaeology, sculpture, bronzes, coins and natural history. It preserves regional antiquities and artefacts illustrating the history of the Kongu region. It is a modest but authentic heritage stop for visitors interested in the area's past.

Sri Koniamman Temple at Ukkadam is regarded as the guardian deity (kaval deivam) of Coimbatore city and is believed to be more than 500 years old. The goddess Koniamman is revered as the protector of the city. It is one of the oldest and most culturally significant temples in the urban core, hosting a major annual festival.

St. Michael's Cathedral on Big Bazaar Street is the principal Roman Catholic cathedral of Coimbatore, originally consecrated in 1867 by Bishop Claude-Marie Depommier. The old church was demolished and rebuilt around 2013, and the present structure is admired for its paintings and stained-glass work. It is the seat of the Catholic Diocese of Coimbatore and a heritage religious landmark in the old city.
