The story

Kiliyur Falls is a seasonal cascade below the Yercaud plateau, fed by rainfall and overflow from the lake catchment. A long, steep descent separates the road approach from the falls. Confirm flow, path condition and the permitted turnaround time before committing.

The story of Kiliyur Falls

The waterfall is most impressive after rain and may shrink substantially in dry weather. Marketing images cannot predict today’s flow.

Steps and rough sections make the return climb demanding. Visitors with limited mobility can enjoy Yercaud without attempting this route.

Stay off wet rock, keep away from the plunge area and turn back if rain or fading light makes the climb unsafe.

For the visit itself, allow two to three hours for the return route. The best time is cool daylight after safe rainfall. Check current path and flow locally. Allow more time for the climb out than the descent. The steep path is not step-free and wet rock can be lethal.

Book with the place itself. India’s cyber-crime coordination centre warned in April 2025 that convincing copies of hotel and pilgrimage booking sites are being pushed through sponsored search and social ads, taking payment for rooms the property never hears about. Every listing here links to the business’s own contact details and its own Google or Bing profile — we take no commission and sit in nobody’s payment path. If a booking page reached you through an ad, check the address bar against the property’s own site before you pay. Fraud can be reported on cybercrime.gov.in or on 1930.
