- Veezhinathar (Nethrarpaneswarar) Temple, Thiruveezhimizhalai — A Paadal Petra Sthalam Shiva temple where Sambandar and Appar are said to have received gold coins from the deity during a famine to feed devotees. It is famous for the annual Annabhishekam, when the lingam is bathed in cooked rice, and for the legend of Shiva offering one of his eyes. The temple is closely tied to the Tevaram Nayanmars.
