Cubbon Park is a 300-acre landscaped park in the heart of Bengaluru, laid out in 1870 by the British and named after the then Commissioner of Mysore, Sir Mark Cubbon. It is one of the green lungs of the city, threaded by walking paths, avenues of old rain-trees and flowering species.
The park is ringed by some of the city’s finest heritage buildings — the red Attara Kacheri (High Court), the State Central Library, the Government Museum and Visvesvaraya Industrial and Technological Museum — making it as much a heritage walk as a garden.
