About
Mavelikara station, code MVLK, sits on the Kollam–Kottayam–Ernakulam line under the Thiruvananthapuram division of Southern Railway, with three platforms and five tracks. The rail link reached the town in 1958 when the metre-gauge line from Kottayam was extended to Kollam Junction, and the route was converted to broad gauge in 1976.
