Highlights
- Koraiyar Falls — A small seasonal waterfall in the Pachaimalai Hills near Thondamanthurai, counted among the principal falls of the range. Its streams flow downstream to feed the Vellar river. It is a monsoon-fed cascade popular with local trekkers.
- Mangalam Aruvi Falls — One of the three main waterfalls of the Pachaimalai Hills in Perambalur district. It is a seasonal, monsoon-fed cascade set in the forested upper hills and is popular with local trekkers.
- Pachaimalai Hills — The most important hill range of Perambalur district, forming its northern boundary with thickly forested slopes, tribal hamlets and several seasonal waterfalls such as Mayil Ootru, Koraiyar and Mangalam Aruvi. The hills are known for their black granite and are a popular local base for trekking and nature outings.
