Konar Temple, Thirumalpur

A temple dedicated to the goddess Varahi at Katarampakkam near Arakkonam. It is one of several Varahi shrines that make Ranipet district a regional centre of Varahi Amman worship.

A state-protected Shiva temple at Takkolam bearing Chola-period inscriptions, including records of bronze deity installations. It stands apart from the town's larger Jalanatheeswarar temple and is preserved for its early medieval epigraphy and architecture.

A major railway junction town in the north of the district and gateway to several Pallava heritage sites. Nearby is the naval air station INS Rajali, which has one of the longest military runways in Asia.

A Shiva temple on the Kosasthalaiyar river with Pallava origins and a masonry structure from around 876 CE under Aparajitavarman, carrying 51 inscriptions and revered as a Paadal Petra Sthalam. Takkolam is also the site of the decisive Battle of Takkolam (c. 949 CE).

A dam and anicut on the Palar river system in Ranipet district. It is the point where the overflow channel from Kaveripakkam lake splits and continues as the Kosasthalaiyar river toward the Bay of Bengal, and it doubles as a local irrigation structure and picnic spot.

A monolithic Pallava rock-cut cave shrine to Vishnu excavated under Mahendravarman I (c. 600-630 CE), whose inscription names it Mahendra-Vishnugriha. It is regarded as one of the earliest examples in the Pallava rock-cut tradition that later flowered at Kanchipuram and Mamallapuram, and is protected by the ASI.

A Shiva temple at Thirumalaicheri that preserves early sculptures including Saptamatrikas, Jyeshta Devi and Mahishasuramardini. It forms part of the Pallava-era heritage circuit around Kaveripakkam.

A large irrigation tank at Kaveripakkam excavated in the 8th century during the reign of Pallava king Nandivarman III. Fed by the Palar river, it holds about 1,474 million cubic feet of water with an 8.35 km bank and ten sluice gates, its overflow feeding the Kosasthalaiyar river. It is among the oldest and largest man-made lakes in the region.

A hilltop Vaishnavite temple (a Divya Desam, Thirukkadigai) where Lord Lakshmi Narasimha is reached by climbing about 1,305 granite steps up the Periya Malai. A companion Anjaneyar (Hanuman) shrine sits on the adjacent Chinna Malai, and it is one of the district's most important pilgrimage centres.

A Vaishnavite temple at Kaveripakkam dating to the 8th century CE and built during the Pallava dynasty. Dedicated to Vishnu as Abhaya Varadaraja Perumal, it is among the historic shrines linked to the ancient Pallava settlement around Kaveripakkam lake.

A protected 18th-century tomb near the Sholinghur bus stand marking the burial spot of Mysore army soldiers slain in the 1781 Battle of Sholinghur, fought between the British and Hyder Ali. Measuring roughly 15 by 35 feet, it is preserved by the state archaeology department as a war memorial of the Second Anglo-Mysore War.

An ancient Shiva temple in Sholinghur town, distinct from the hilltop Narasimha shrines. Dedicated to Lord Shiva as Sozhapureeswarar, it is one of the older temples of the town.
