  • Big Mosque (Periya Palli), Poonamallee — Built in 1653 CE by Rustam, son of the Golconda courtier Astirabad Dhulfiqar, and regarded as the first Indo-Saracenic style mosque in Tamil Nadu. A Persian inscription dated 1653 CE inside the mosque records its founding. It is one of the key heritage monuments of historic Poonamallee.
