- Varadaraja Perumal Temple, Poonamallee — A Vishnu temple in the historic town of Poonamallee whose origins are traced to the 10th century CE during the reign of Chola king Parantaka I. It is one of the principal heritage temples of the old Poonamallee, formerly Poovirundhavalli, settlement.
- Big Mosque (Periya Palli), Poonamallee — Built in 1653 CE by Rustam, son of the Golconda courtier Astirabad Dhulfiqar, and regarded as the first Indo-Saracenic style mosque in Tamil Nadu. A Persian inscription dated 1653 CE inside the mosque records its founding. It is one of the key heritage monuments of historic Poonamallee.
