The tomb complex of the 11th-century Sufi saint Sultan Syed Shah Mutaharuddin, known as Nathar Vali, and one of the most important Muslim pilgrimage sites in Tamil Nadu. Built over his grave during the Chola period, it later gained a prominent 70-foot dome added by the 18th-century ruler Chanda Sahib. Its annual Urs festival during Ramzan draws large crowds of pilgrims from many communities.

A Paadal Petra Sthalam Shiva temple built on a rocky hillock beside the Uyyakondan channel of the Kaveri, revered in the 7th-century Tevaram hymns. Shiva is worshipped here as Uyyakondan (Ujjivanathar) with his consort Anjanakshi. The four-acre temple has concentric granite walls and inscriptions recording a crown gifted by the Chola queen Sembiyan Mahadevi.

A dargah set on a small hillock in the Khajamalai suburb of Trichy, where the Sufi saint Khwaja Syed Ahmadullah Shah is interred. It was established in memory of the saint who came to Tiruchirappalli to pay respects to Baba Nathar Vali. It is one of the older Muslim shrines in the city and a local pilgrimage spot.

An ancient roofless-sanctum Shakti temple in Uraiyur, the historic capital of the early Chola dynasty, dedicated to the goddess believed to have blessed the Cholas before battle.

A heritage centre showcasing the history of the Golden Rock railway workshop, one of the oldest and largest locomotive workshops of Southern Railway, with vintage engines and workshop artifacts.

A science museum and planetarium run by the Tamil Nadu Science and Technology Centre, inaugurated on 10 June 1999. It features science and technology exhibition halls and a planetarium with shows in Tamil and English. It is a popular educational attraction for students and families in the district.
