- Kalakkad Mundanthurai Tiger Reserve — Tamil Nadu's first tiger reserve, a South Western Ghats rainforest catchment for 14 rivers, home to tiger, lion-tailed macaque, Nilgiri tahr and Nilgiri langur.
- Agasthiyar Falls (Papanasam Falls) — A sacred perennial falls on the Thamirabarani near Papanasam where, by legend, sage Agasthya saw Shiva in his wedding form; devotees bathe here to wash away sins.
- Manimuthar Dam and Falls — The largest reservoir in Tirunelveli district, built on the Thamirabarani at the foot of the Pothigai Hills, paired with the scenic Manimuthar falls and tea-hill backdrop.
- Papanasanathar Temple, Papanasam — An ancient Shiva temple ('Papanasam' means absolution of sins) on the Thamirabarani, the pilgrimage anchor of the Papanasam falls-and-dam cluster in Ambasamudram taluk.
- Sivasailam Temple — A 1,000-year-old Pandya-era Shiva temple (Sivasailanathar / Paramakalyani) ringed by Western Ghats hills, a Vaippu Sthalam praised in the 7th-century Thevaram, noted for its huge Nandi.
- Manjolai Hills — A misty tea-estate hill settlement at roughly 1,160 m inside KMTR, dotted with plantation bungalows and often likened to Ooty for its climate and greenery.
