- Sri Uthira Ranganatha Swamy Temple, Pallikonda — This Vishnu temple stands on the banks of the Palar river at Pallikonda, about 24 km west of Vellore town, with the deity reclining in a sayana kolam (lying posture). Tradition holds it as the first of three shrines where Lord Narayana appeared in a reclining form to hold back floodwaters threatening Brahma's yagna. Its origins are traced to around the 5th century, and it was substantially expanded under the Vijayanagara kings.
- Arulmigu Naganatha Eswarar Temple, Keezhachur — This Shiva temple sits in the hamlet of Keezhachur near Pallikonda, on the banks of the Palar river, about 24 km from Vellore. It is traditionally attributed to the Chola emperor Parantaka Chola, placing its origins earlier than the reign of Raja Raja Chola. The shrine lies close to the Pallikonda bus stand and is revered locally for its antiquity.
