- Meenakshi Sundareswarar (Nagara Sivan) Temple, Devakottai — The principal Shiva temple in the heart of Devakottai, known locally as the Nagara Sivan Koil, built in the late 19th century by the Nagarathar community. The presiding deities Sundareswarar and Meenakshi are enshrined in their wedding (kalyana kolam) posture. It is also called the Sekkizhar Temple, with a shrine and processional image of Sekkizhar, the 12th-century author of the Periya Puranam.
