A Paadal Petra Sthalam Shiva temple revered in the Tevaram, said to be the last of the sixty madakoil temples built by the Chola king Kochengat Chola. The deity is worshipped as Brahmapureeswarar with the goddess Poonguzhalammai. It carries the legend of Sundarar bringing Shiva to a Soma yagna and of the Lord turning bricks into gold.
