One of the 108 Divya Desams of Vishnu, near Kollumangudi, praised by the Alvars. It is one of only two Divya Desams where Vishnu reclines facing south (the other being Srirangam), and the only one with a separate shrine for Adisesha, placed above Garuda. For this reason it is considered a special shrine for relief from Naga Dosha and Kala Sarpa Dosha.
