Varadharaja Perumal Temple is a sprawling Vishnu temple in the Vishnu Kanchi part of Kanchipuram, revered as one of the 108 Divya Desams sung by the Alvar poet-saints. The main shrine sits atop the Hastagiri, the small 'elephant hill' within the complex.
The temple owes much of its surviving grandeur to Vijayanagara patronage, and its art-filled mandapams draw pilgrims and heritage travellers alike. It remains an active place of worship with daily rituals and major festivals.
