Mandalpatti (Mugilupete) is a grassland hilltop viewpoint at about 1,600 m within the Pushpagiri range, roughly 20 km from Madikeri. Reached by a rough track that the last stretch is usually covered by hired jeeps, it is one of Coorg’s most famous sunrise and sunset points.

From the top, ridge after ridge of the Western Ghats roll away, often above a sea of cloud in the early morning. In the monsoon the hill is green and mist-wrapped but the track can be very rough and views hit-or-miss.
