The story of Choolannur Peafowl Sanctuary
The Forest Department records the sanctuary’s area as 3.42 square kilometres and places it under the Peechi wildlife administration. It is also called Mayiladumpara. The peafowl association draws visitors, but a sanctuary is habitat for free-living birds rather than a display where a particular sighting is scheduled.
