The story of Chain Tree
The Chain Tree stands beside the route into Wayanad near Lakkidi. Local tradition connects it with Karinthandan, an Indigenous guide said to have shown the ghat route to the British. The subsequent killing and binding of his spirit belong to the legend; the story should not be presented as a documented account of how every part of the road was built.

Why visit
