Current access and safe footing matter more than a guaranteed echo count.
Kokkathodu leads toward Kattathipara, a large rock formation near Konni associated with a striking echo; the forest approach needs present access checks.
Kerala Tourism describes a forest trek from Kokkathodu settlement to Kattathipara rock in Pathanamthitta district. Its video account calls attention to the echo made around the rock. That acoustic experience is a reason to seek the place, but the claim of an exactly repeatable “triple echo” depends on where a person stands and current conditions.
This is an elevated rock and forest landscape rather than a paved park attraction. Kerala Tourism’s photo account shows slopes and valley views. Check the current permitted trail, guide or forest reporting point before setting out from Konni, especially after rain. Do not assume an old map pin is the current public entrance.
At the destination, the rock and its surrounding valley are the story. Stay back from exposed edges and follow the route chosen by local staff. The echo is a bonus; safe access is the first requirement.

Book with the place itself. India’s cyber-crime coordination centre warned in April 2025 that convincing copies of hotel and pilgrimage booking sites are being pushed through sponsored search and social ads, taking payment for rooms the property never hears about. Use the contact and source details on each profile to confirm the exact business and booking channel. A directory entry or map pin alone does not establish an operator’s identity or current availability. Roampedia takes no commission and does not collect booking payments. If a booking page reached you through an ad, check the address bar against the property’s own site before you pay. Fraud can be reported on cybercrime.gov.in or on 1930.
